"Spiraling Urban Sprawl" by Darolyn

Here is my newest piece..."Spiraling Urban Sprawl". It was named by my husband. It is 20 x 16 on a gallery wrapped canvas. It is ready to hang as is...no need for a frame.
A colorful cityscape with a strange but, cool looking tree for interest. You can see that I added some texture to the piece. I completed the sky using different colors for stars.
All of my pieces are signed and dated by me. The color and design is continued on each side of the canvas.
A close up of the painting.
It has been labeled and dated on the back.

"Branching into Twilight" by Darolyn

Here are all 6 pieces of "Branching into Twilight". Each piece is 8 x 8 inches. I suggest hanging it the way it is displayed in this photo.
A close up shot of the right bottom corner.
A close up shot of my signature. It is always displayed on the right bottom corner with the date. I love the gallery wrapped canvas. It is ready to hang!
A close up shot of 4 panels with the background color and branches wrapping around the sides of each one.
A close up shot.
I turned the panels on the sides for a better view.
Upside down shot of the trunk of the tree and how I extended it over the top of the panel on to the side.
Labeled on the back with the name and date completed.

I worked very hard on this piece of artwork. It was a vision of my husbands. I hope that I can sell this to an outstanding buyer who will hang it and enjoy it for years to come.

“Rising Dusk” by Darolyn

This piece of artwork is acrylic on canvas and measures 8 X 8 inches. It was finished in March of 2009 along with "Falling Dusk".
This wrapped canvas includes my signature. You can see the textured background I created using a wide brush.
I was going with a more "geometric" look instead of the "organic" like tree I had previously completed. Both compliment each other. They could be bought as a set.

“Wispy Standing Dawn” by Darolyn

This piece of artwork is acrylic on canvas and is 20 X 16 inches. It was completed in the spring of 2009 along with "Straight Standing Dawn". My students loved this one. It is always nice to get feedback....I will miss that this year.
Gotta love the wrapped canvas...ready to hang. No frame needed! It does include my signature.
A closer view of the painting.
The Cobalt Blue is striking.
My favorite technique in creating my roses...using organic shapes to create layers of petals.
Instead of making leaves, I just curled them around into a spiral. My husband says they look "wispy".

“Rebirth From Failure” by Darolyn

This was an 8 X 8 inch failure at one time. I was not happy at the direction I was going and changed it. It was "officially" completed in 2009. It happens to be a favorite of my husband.
As always, it is on wrapped canvas...my favorite because it needs NO frame! It also includes my signature.
I started out working on an abstract piece of art using my black glue (Elmers glue with black acrylic paint). It just was not working for me. So, I completely painted the canvas black to "start over". What it did was create a cool texture. I love the pink and green on this black.
Up close shot of the textured background created with the black glue.
I added some polka dots for some interest.
